Our company history
Our family business has grown steadily since 1968 and can now call itself one of the largest employers in the region. Over 600 employees work at a total of 6 locations and ensure that our approximately 250,000 customers feel comfortable and satisfied every day. The group of companies is one of the largest furnishing and furniture retailers in southern Germany. Since the company was founded more than half a century ago, a lot has changed, developed and improved. The training of our employees is important to us, which is why we hold regular training courses and continue to develop ourselves. We started digitization at a time when few people knew how essential digital business would become. We have built new stores or expanded existing ones at our current locations. Today, we can offer our customers around 150,000 square meters of exhibition space and furniture from more than 150 brands. Even though a lot has changed, the satisfaction of our customers is just as central to our daily activities today as it was back then.
The fact that our group of companies is popular in southern Germany is demonstrated not least by the various awards we have already received. Our furniture store Wohnpark Binzen has received the Store of the Year award. According to Google, our furniture stores in Dogern and Rheinfelden are the best furniture stores in Germany. We are naturally proud of this and are delighted that we can inspire our customers and provide them with a special shopping experience both online and offline. Our history
A family business steeped in tradition
Founded in 1968 as “Wohnbedarf Waldshut” by Erich Albiez and Karl Kummle, the Dogern furniture store is now managed by the second generation, Ingo Albiez and Ulrich Kummle.
The parent company in Dogern near Waldshut now has over 250 employees. A family and generation-friendly company policy is the living philosophy of our company.
In a former textile factory in Waldshut, the first Wohnbedarf Waldshut was built this year on 3,000 m2 and four floors. Today, Kaufland Waldshut stands on the former site of the furniture store.
Opening of the Dogern furniture store with approx. 6,000 m2 of exhibition space.
Already the third extension with an area of 5,100 m2. The new "Young Living" segment is being created under the name "Mobila".
Redesign of the façade.
Opening of the subsidiary Mobila Rheinfelden on 10,000 m2.
The third sales concept, the Super-SB furniture discount store in Dogern, opened on 6,400 m2 .
The Super-SB furniture discount store in Rheinfelden opened on 7,000 m2.
Addition of a third floor at Mobila Rheinfelden.
27,400 m2 exhibition space of the Dogern furniture store on two floors. The children's area and the bistro round off this overall concept.
Another milestone in our history: Reopening of the Möbelarena in Rheinfelden.
New umbrella brand. Wohnwelt Rheinfelden opens its doors. Total furnishing on 27,000 m2.
The self-service market in Dogen closes. It will be replaced by the new furniture arena in the Waldshut business park with a sales area of 8,000 m2.
Grand opening of the Binzen residential park, with an exhibition area of 28,000 m2 and a large panorama restaurant.
Opening of Natura - Der Möbelmarkt Waldshut-Tiengen with 8,000 m2 of exhibition space.
Sotre of the Year award for the Binzen residential park.
Major expansion of the Möbelarena Rheinfelden. An upper floor with a large kitchen studio and an inviting boutique now complete the range.
Opening of TrendIn, the trendy furniture store in the Binzen residential park - around 6,000 m2 of exhibition space.
Major expansion of the Dogern furniture store to 31,500 m2 of usable space. A panorama restaurant and a sustainable children's area round off the shopping experience.
Opening of the upholstery store Polster XXL in Waldshut-Tiengen. Focus on beds, sofas and armchairs.
The Interliving furniture store in Waldshut celebrates its opening. It is the first partner house of the exclusive Interliving brand on the Upper Rhine.
